I fell in love with this pretty pirate fabric and managed to create the larger picture to embroider as a centre piece! I hope you like the finished cushion edged in bright pink with white spots!!!!!
I have been doing patchwork since 2007 and have in the past 2 years started making personalised gifts for friends that has led to creating gifts to order. Cushions, bags and bunting can be personalised with names, dates etc., for weddings, births or even advertising for your business. I love creating and putting colours together to create something original that will hopefully be loved by the eventual owner!

I love Whitstable..........
This is the first of a collection of Whitstable keepsake cushions I am in the process of making. I have kept them quite small and simple this one with " I heart Whitstable " in the centre, in a distinctive red and off white.
Whitstable
As I have been sitting and working in my hut in Whitstable I thought I would include some cushions as keepsakes from the town, especially as we get a lot of visitors during the summer months. The first one I have completed is this simple bordered bolster style cushion with "Whitstable" worked in trapunto to raise the letters and enable them to stand out on the off white back ground. The shell fabric border ties the theme in with being by the sea.

Blean Raise the Roof Quilt Block !!
I am helping to make some blocks with the Blean craft group for their next quilt, which is to be raffled to help raise funds for the village hall extension and refurbishment project. The theme is "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside", and the block must include at least one beach hut which can be any of the 3 template sizes provided so that we have some sort of theme and size to the completed quilt! I decided to include a sun bonnet sue making a sandcastle and added the smallest beach hut in the background of the scene, complete with a crab in the left hand corner and some bright miniature bunting!!

Seahorse Friends..
I found this pretty aqua fabric with nautical prints over it and used a mottled fabric for the three little seahorses, which have been blanket stitched on in the middle, with toning beads for eyes. I have used the same warm brushed white cotton for the back.
Ships Ahoy......
I have been busy trying to make some seaside theme cushions for my hut in Whitstable which opened last weekend for the first time!!!! I started with the boat which has been appliquéd on to some white linen and I have kept it simple with navy spot around the borders, finishing it off with a brushed cotton back.
