This is the last cushion completed for Christmas. It was requested by Djuna as a gift for her mum. she has been re-decorating her lounge so we picked out colours that would compliment her decor we hope she will be pleased with it.
I have been doing patchwork since 2007 and have in the past 2 years started making personalised gifts for friends that has led to creating gifts to order. Cushions, bags and bunting can be personalised with names, dates etc., for weddings, births or even advertising for your business. I love creating and putting colours together to create something original that will hopefully be loved by the eventual owner!

Baby Girl
There seems to be a lot of girl power around at the moment, Marie has requested another cushion for a family member who has recently had a baby girl and by coincidence has been named "Freya Elise". I went with a dusty lilac theme and a single jumping bunny, with a quilted back ground!!
Little Bird
Another completed commission by Sarah this time, for her 2 boys to give "Nanny" as a Christmas present. she wasn't sure what she wanted, but said that her lounge was a teal colour with silver, and she lives by the sea. I found it difficult to be inspired by the nautical theme without it looking too masculine, and after being inspired by my searches adapted the final design! I have used a silver thread through the curly design and added the pink to give a good contrast with a patterned piping that picks out all the colours!

Christmas Sacks!
a request from Angela to make some Sacks for Christmas for her and husband Keith who were married at the end of September. Her request was to have "Mr" on one and "Mrs" on the other and to include the year they were married 2012. I have kept them in a classic sack colour which is a cotton/linen mix and lined them with a dark green to give them body, and used felt for the letters and numbers blanket stitched on. Finished off with red and white spot trim and casing for draw string and I found some lovely Xmas decoration bells for the end of draw string to give that festive finish, hopefully they will get used for many Christmases to come!

Baby Girl Bunnies
Another new baby girl cushion using the bunnies motifs again, I used flower fabrics this time which gives it a different look. Also still had some of the handprint fabric left which is ideal for the back of the cushion.

Pinkies in Whitstable
Kelli opened her shop in Whitstable just over a year ago and she is a qualified nail and beauty therapist who specialises in Bridal make up. You can check her details at www.kelliwaldock.co.uk
The atmosphere in the shop is very welcoming and a hive of chat and laughter! Kelli's mum Diane works on reception and also her friend Marie, and she has recently had Angela join her in providing the therapies.
I have got to know Kelli quite well over the past year, and she has helped me advertise my mobile reflexology business. As a " thank you ", I made her a bag and cushion advertising her shop and make up brand!

Memory cushion finished recently as a gift for a friend getting married shortly.
The embroidered panel was a pre-printed square. The colours have been chosen to go with the brides theme, the bridesmaids are wearing deep purple.

First quilt
This was my first quilt which I made in 2007, completing it in September. It was a challenge set by the group I had joined, each month we had to bring in 5" squares in a particular colour, once we had gone through the colour spectrum they were then divided up and given out to those participating in the challenge. I decided to keep the squares intact and chose a calico as my base and completed the quilt by making nearly 200 Japanese folded square units. I used big stitches to sew around matching the colour of the thread to the centre colour of fabric. The quilt was then sewn together on the diagonal to give a decorative triangular edge and the colours graded like a rainbow.
